Filipe Montargil

Professor at the School of Communication and Media Studies (ESCS), in Lisbon, since 1998. Coordinator of the master’s course in Audiovisual and Multimedia, since July 2018. Invited Professor at NOVA IMS, Principal Investigator of the Living Lab on Media Content and Platforms and Vice-President of the board of the Institute of Communication and Media of Lisbon. He has collaborated with the European Commission, as an external expert, since 2015, and was also a professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, in Warsaw (Poland), at ISCSP, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Universidade Lusíada and Universidade Lusófona, in Lisbon. He is a member of the scientific committee of several journals and conferences and authors and co-authors several dozen scientific publications, through national and international publishers. Executive Director of the Óbidos Technological Park and its business incubators, from 2008 to 2012. Founder and CEO of Data Crítica, Market and Opinion Research, and co-founder and Research Director at Netsonda, Consulting and Market Research, from 1998 to 2002. Filipe holds a degree in Sociology, by ISCTE, a Master in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies, by the same institution, and a PhD in Sociology, by the University of Évora.
